42 commandments: 7: You shall not only ever run after the next and new
Don`t dismiss books of the past just because their author is dead. There won`t be a next novel. No new unread words for you. The present is founded on the treasures of the past and on past pain. Chasing only possible future books makes you empty and hollow and blind. A life is not worth more just because it just begun. A life is not worth less just because it is at its end.
Live long and prosper and buy/build some bookshelves 😉

True. People disregard classics not because they’re boring, but because the author is dead (well, sometimes people disregard them because they’re boring: ever read Jane Eyre?)

Eh. It wasn’t my type of book. I don’t like redundant descriptions
